Prescription Drug Take-Back POSTPONED |
|
Be advised that the DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back (originally scheduled for April 25) has been POSTPONED. We do not have another date yet, but I am in close contact with Kirk Lane, State Drug Director, and will get word out as soon as we know more. All indications lead us to estimate that this will only be moved out 4-6 weeks, allowing us and other coalitions throughout the nation to implement safe practices amid COVID-19 as well as potential alternate collection methods. In the meantime, I encourage you to spread the word about our prescription drop boxes throughout the county which are open 365 days a year, located at Boone County Sheriff's Dept., Harrison PD, Alpena City Hall and Lead Hill City Hall. This time last year, we collected 71 pounds of unused and expired prescription drugs! Help spread the word and let's keep the trend going! Thank you for all you do in the name of prevention for the next generation. Thanks, Dan Dillard - Grant/Project Coordinator
