The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is a fraternal organization that was founded "To promote and practice the four cardinal virtues of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism and cultivate good fellowship." The Arkansas Elks Association, through a program called the "Red Pig," raises funds for Human Development Centers in Arkansas. The "Red Pig" program involves the Elks and the Arkadelphia Human Development Center (HDC) collaborating to collect donations. Harrison Elks #2311 focuses and partners with organizations related to veterans, children, and our community. The Harrison lodge provides gifts to children for Christmas, food baskets to families and veterans in need, hosts an Elk Hoop Shoot for children 8-12 years of age, and provides an annual Thanksgiving and Veteran’s Luncheon. The Harrison Lodge has been active in the Harrison community for over 60 years and has donated ~ $2.9M to the Harrison area.
